Happy November, friends! And Happy NaNoWriMo to whoever is participating this year. I won’t, but I will be finishing up my first project I tried out during this month. I got to turn it into my grad school thesis.
I haven’t done a WWW Wednesday in a while. But I’ve done so much reading for school that I think it’s time I share.
What are you currently reading?
Practical Magic by Alice Hoffman – oh my gosh. This book is perfect. I love the movie so much and the book just expands on what I already enjoy. Plus, you can’t go wrong with magic.
What did you just finish reading?
Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng – I don’t read much literary fiction. But books like Little Fires make me question why. It’s so thought provoking and timely, not to mention well written. I’m definitely keeping an eye out for her first novel.
Without Merit by Colleen Hoover – this is one of those books that everyone should read. But I can’t tell you why until you’ve finished. I’m so glad I read it.
Broken Bay by Andrea Dunlop – this was a cute novella that was perfect for October. Not as long or fleshed out as I would have liked, but worth getting into.
Losing the Light by Andrea Dunlop – Dunlop’s actual novel, though – amazing. Full of heart and sex and life.
What do you think you’ll read next?
I finally started getting Book of the Month boxes! So I have Turtles All the Way Down by John Green and Beasts of Extraordinary Circumstance by Ruth Emile Lang to read. And since I get a new box soon, I’ll probably add The Rules of Magic by Alice Hoffman. Because the publishing of Practical Magic’s prequel is the very reason I started to read the first.
So what have you all been reading lately? I’d love to hear.
Lastly, a public service announcement: today is November 1st and officially Scorpio Races day. If you haven’t yet read Maggie Stiefvater’s book about wild and deadly horses and the people who love them (and each other) today is the perfect day to start.
